ABOUT ONE GRID ENERGY SOLUTIONS


Mike Petouhoff is deeply experienced in Renewable Energy and has a proven track record in achieving large scale transformation. He currently serves as member of the Industry Advisory Panel for the State of New York REV Connect initiative, and is Co-Chair of the Energy Committee of Bay Area Council in San Fran-cisco. Mike founded and lead the Global Energy Team at Apple Inc,where he was the architect and chief implementor of Apple’s 100% Renewable Energy program, leading Apple from the very bottom of the tech industry energy rankings, to top honors three years in a row. He worked with utilities, developers, utility commissions and government agencies across the US and around the world, in a wide variety of regulatory contexts, to consistently reach a path to 100% renewable for all of Apple’s Global operations, including leading the energy design effort for Apple’s sate of the art 100% Renewable micro-grid campus with energy storage, the first campus in California to achieve certification by Governor Brown as a Zero Carbon Campus under AB900.

ABOUT MIKE PETOUHOFF


Apple announced in 2013 that it’s US operations including data centers were then powered by100% renewable energy. As new international markets were addressed, and with continued growth, by 2016, Apple announced that 96 percent of the electricity used at its global facilities came from renewable energy, achieving 100 percent renewable in 24 countries and all of Apple's data centers. Greenpeace specially noted Apple’s meaningful efforts to create truly additional renewables in their 2017 report citing Apple’s program as industry leading for 2014, 2015, and 2016. Mike also led the effort to design and build California’s first Zero Net Energy Town, West Vil-lage, demonstrating the ability to generate sufficient renewable energy within its footprint to meet the energy needs of residential and commercial uses there, as the Zero Net Energy Thought Leader for Chevron Energy Solutions, and in partnership with UC Davis.

Mike thrives on the nexus between technology and social policy and loves working with people. He has a proven ability to translate broad organizational goals into tangible action plans, capa-bility to bring solutions to complex, seemingly intractable problems, and the tenacity to follow through to achieve transformational results. His education includes a BS in Engineering from the US Naval Academy, at Annapolis, an MS in Environmental Engineering from UCLA, and bi-costal MBA’s through a dual degree program at Colombia University in New York and the UC Berkley, Haas School of Business.
